The event was held jointly by the Import-Export Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) and the Department of Industry and Trade of Tien Giang Province.
The workshop aimed to assess the situation and information on export markets in the EVFTA and CPTPP regions. At the same time, the delegates also focused on discussing solutions towards orienting the organisation of goods production to meet the requirements of import markets and making good use of advantages and opportunities in the new context, thus contributing to promoting the sustainable export of Vietnamese goods.
According to the Import-Export Department, Vietnam has joined 15 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), becoming the only country that has signed Free Trade Agreements with all major economic partners in the world the such as: USA, Japan, China, the EU, the UK, and Russia.
The most prominent of the FTAs that Vietnam has signed are the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
These FTAs have provided Vietnamese businesses with great advantages, promoting trade and export activitieswhile bringing Vietnamese products and brands to consumers in many major markets in the world.
In 2021, Vietnam's export revenue to markets in the CPTPP reached 45.7 billion USD, up 18.1% from 2020; and was estimated at 45 billion USD in the first 10 months of 2022, up 22.1% over the same period in 2021.
