Vice President attends new school year opening at Commerce University

Speaking at the ceremony, the leader congratulated and praised the outstanding achievements of the teaching staff and students at the university.

At present, the facility has 16 undergraduate majors and 10 master's and doctoral students, with about 20,000 students enrolled and more than 4,000 graduates each year. Such figures show the growth in scale as well as the prestige and position of the school in the system of universities and colleges nationwide, the Vice President affirmed.

Vice President Thinh suggested the VUC in the new school year work to improve teaching quality, considering it a leading factor determining the quality of training and the quality of human resources trained by the school.

At the same time, it should compile and update curriculums and teaching materials suitable to the new situation with access to syllabi of advanced universities around the world, while enhancing international cooperation and scientific research towards internationalising its scientific evaluation and professional standards.

It is necessary to strengthen the linkage between training and labour use, the Vice President said, adding that the university should coordinate with enterprises and research institutes to help provide students with access to business practices and production right from their first years in university.

In addition, it should continue to implement the scheme on modernisation and autonomous mechanism towards advanced, open and transparent governance methods, thus ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in all activities.

Vice President Thinh encouraged VUC’s students to facilitate their learning with creative and innovative methods so that they can reap the fruits of success after graduation./.
