Senior Vice President for Global Business and Government Affairs of SpaceX Tim Hughes made the above statement during his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Ha Noi on September 6.
Hughes spoke highly of Viet Nam's business environment, suggesting the Southeast Asian nation prepare necessary infrastructure and conditions to maximize effectiveness of Startlink services, with a view to providing internet coverage to all the population.
Prime Minister Pham, for his part, hailed the company's ideas and investment proposals and hoped that these proposals would soon become a reality.
Pham reiterated that Viet Nam always creates the most favorable conditions possible for American businesses to launch successful operation in the nation in the spirit of "harmonizing interests, sharing risks".
Viet Nam has made efforts to build a digital government, digital economy, digital society, and digital citizens, noted the Vietnamese leader, expressing his wish for tech giants, including SpaceX, to invest in the country.
The Prime Minister urged SpaceX to work with relevant Vietnamese ministries, sectors, and agencies to ensure that its investment project complies with Vietnamese laws and maintain network security and safety.
Pham called on SpaceX to assist Viet Nam in technology transfer, human resources training, and management expertise.
He also called on SpaceX to enhance collaboration with Vietnamese partners, particularly focusing on increasing the content of high, digital, and green technologies, developing supporting industries, and providing secondary services to help Viet Nam integrate more deeply into the global value chains./.
