Green transformation plays an important role in logistics activities and all issues related to import and export. Green supply chain development is also a necessary change, associated with the commitment of the government of Vietnam on the journey towards Net Zero made by the Prime Minister at the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP26) of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
According to Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong, Head of the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain, University of Commerce, greening the logistics industry is becoming mandatory for businesses in the face of increasingly high market demands, requiring greening the entire supply chain.
She believes that in order to achieve green transformation in logistics activities, businesses need to change from awareness to action. It is necessary to build a green development strategy to meet the requirements of demanding markets, and at the same time implement greening measures for logistics service activities, such as using environmentally friendly power sources to replace traditional power systems.
According to economic experts, businesses need to raise awareness of green logistics, change their thinking and apply green transformation methods in stages of the production and business process, thereby helping to optimize operational efficiency.
For the government, management agencies also need to facilitate trade, simplify administrative procedures, and create favorable conditions to support businesses in the process of digital transformation and green transformation, contributing to improving the adaptability of logistics businesses in the new context./.
