According to the synthesis and analysis of the labor market, surveying the labor recruitment needs of businesses, Long An Employment Service Center estimates that by 2024, the whole province will need to recruit about 9,600 labor positions, divided into several main occupational groups: Mechanical engineering - technology; processing - manufacturing; economics - office; general labor.

In particular, currently, businesses are recruiting more than 2,700 workers. Among them, Koda Saigon Company Limited (Thuan Dao Industrial Park, Ben Luc district) needs to recruit 500 general workers.

Deputy Human Resources Director of Koda Saigon Co. Ltd. - Huynh Ngoc Suu said: "The new year brings many new developments as orders for 2024 to 2025 are on the rise. Therefore, the company is currently recruiting a large number of general workers to promote production and business activities as well as develop more and more strongly. Koda Saigon recruits workers from 18 to 50 years old, without experience in the furniture field and will be trained when recruited. In particular, the ompany is willing to recruit workers up to the maximum age of 50 to attract and create employment conditions for older workers who have lost their jobs at other companies so that they can easily apply and have stable jobs."

In addition, Koda Saigon Co. Ltd. has salary and bonus regimes as well as life care policies, creating a friendly and safe working environment to "retain" employees. Currently, the company recruits workers through many channels: Long An Employment Service Center, job groups on Facebook, referrals from acquaintances, etc.

In addition, many businesses in the province are in need to recruit workers: JIA HSIN Co. Ltd. (Can Duoc district) needs to recruit 300 garment workers; CPF Potash Fertilizer Production Company Limited (Can Duoc district) needs to recruit 50 general workers; Vina One Steel Production Joint Stock Company (Ben Luc district) needs to recruit 20 welders; Esang Vina Company Limited (Duc Hoa district) needs to recruit 1,000 garment workers; etc.

Having just graduated from university, Nguyen Thi Tu Anh (ward 6, Tan An city) wants to find a job in an accounting or office position. Tu Anh shared: "I majored in Accounting, just graduated, had no experience, so I encountered many difficulties in finding a job. To be able to go to work early and help my family, I am willing to apply for general labor positions, but that place must be a friendly, safe and favorable working environment for me to develop my abilities. Currently, Tu Anh is looking for a job through Long An Employment Service Center and referrals from friends and relatives.

Workers looking for jobs

Mr. Lam Thanh Tung (Ben Luc town, Ben Luc district) has many years of experience as a welder. However, the old company where he worked encountered difficulties and continuously reduced working hours, causing his income to drop sharply. Unable to take care of his family, Mr. Tung quit his old company to find a new job with the hope of having a more stable income. "With the advantage of having skills and work experience, I believe I can find a suitable job with a stable salary, enough to take care of my family. In particular, I don't mind working outside the district, so I hope to have better income options" - Mr. Tung confided.

Connecting businesses and workers

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs always closely monitors and grasps the production and business situation of enterprises, promptly advising appropriate solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles for enterprises; etc. The Department strengthens the organization of job trading sessions, especially mobile job trading sessions and online job trading sessions with Mekong Delta provinces to quickly connect jobs to workers.

Accordingly, in 2023, there were 13 mobile job transaction sessions conducted in localities with 154 businesses and 4,251 workers directly participating; 6 online job trading sessions with Mekong Delta provinces which had 25 businesses participating in recruitment, 815 employees attended, 233 employees were interviewed online.

The Department connects labor supply and demand, helping businesses recruit and workers find jobs and have stable income.

The group of general labor has high recruitment demand

In addition, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs also appraised and issued 2,633 work permits to foreign workers; appraisal of labor regulations of 152 enterprises; approved the need to use foreign workers for 1,758 enterprises with 6,241 job positions.

In 2023, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs organized career and employment counseling for nearly 219,000 workers, creating jobs for 31,279 workers. The entire province has 40,257 people registered for unemployment insurance, of which 35,740 people are approved; unemployment benefit expenditure was 921.3 billion VND; 841 people received vocational training support.

Thereby, employees who lose their jobs can offset salary costs, stabilize their lives and receive timely support, advice, vocational skills training as well as new job introductions.

In 2024, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will continue to improve the quality of operations of the employment service organization system, especially strengthening consulting activities, job introduction, and labor market information; increase the frequency and improve the efficiency of organizing job exchanges in localities, helping businesses find workers as well as workers find suitable jobs.
