VNHNO - Vietnamese ambassadors Nguyen Thiep and Ngo Duc Manh presented their credentials to French President Emmanuel Macron and Armenian President Armen Sargsyan, respectively, on August 31.
President Macron congratulated Thiep on his appointment, expressing his delight at the rapid and positive developments in the friendly Vietnam-France relations and cooperation since the official visit to France by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in March.
The host spoke highly of Vietnam’s increasing position in the region and the world, while highlighting the similarities between the two countries in terms of interests and their stance on regional and global issues.
He called for further bilateral cooperation within the Francophonie framework, affirming that he will visit Vietnam next year.
For his part, Thiep emphasised that General Secretary Trong’s visit to France opened up a new chapter for the Vietnam-France strategic partnership, further deepening the bilateral relations in economics-trade, security-defence, and Francophonie, while initiating a new area of cooperation in e-government building.
The Vietnamese diplomat asserted Vietnam’s consistent foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, diversification, multilateralisation, respecting multilateralism and international law, supporting trade liberalisation, climate change adaptation, and combating the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.
He called on the French President to give continuous goodwill towards Vietnam and support the country on its integration and development path.

* At a reception for Ngo Duc Manh, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia associate Armenia, Armenian President Armen Sargsyan spoke highly of the relations between the two countries, as well as Vietnam’s position in the region and the nation’s achievements attained during its Doi Moi (Renewal) process.
He highlighted the huge potential for bilateral cooperation, while expressing his wish to visit Vietnam in the near future. The host said he believed that Manh’s work during his tenure in Armenia would contribute significantly to accelerating the friendly relations and cooperation between the two sides.
Ambassador Manh conveyed the congratulations from the senior leaders of the Vietnamese Party, State and Government to President Armen Sargsyan for his success in running the country, while voicing his desire for new heights in the relations between the two countries.
The diplomat shared the Armenian President’s ideas on the enhancement of the multifaceted bilateral ties, parliamentary relations, coordination at international forums of which Vietnam and Armenia are members, people-to-people exchanges, and tourism cooperation.
Earlier, Manh held meetings with Armenia’s Foreign Minister and National Assembly Vice President, while visiting a number of economic and cultural establishments in Yerevan city./.
