Speaking to the press of the two countries, Prime Minister of Algeria Sifi Ghrieb held the results acquired from the visit by Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính in high regard, especially how the upgrade of bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership would open a new chapter and a new stage for the bilateral relations that were already great and making important progress in recent times. This upgrade also concretized the desires and wishes of the leaders and people of the two countries.

The Prime Minister of Algeria Sifi Ghrieb reasserted the determination of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in strengthening cooperation with Vietnam.
According to him, the establishment of a Strategic Partnership not only served as a new relationship framework but also reflected the strategic vision of the two leaders, with the aim to cooperate in fields such as politics, foreign affairs, national defense, security, economics and people-to-people exchange.
In addition, the visit from Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính also had the goal of completing the legal framework and pathways for the relations between the two countries, with the signing of many crucial documents in commerce, housing, finance and more.
The Prime Minister of Algeria saw the discussion as very effective and practical, once again asserting the importance of the bilateral relations and strengthening of unity between the two nations and their people in responding to traditional and non-traditional security threats.
Expressing his joy at the improvements in the developments in economic and investment cooperation between the two countries in recent times, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb used the occasion to encourage large Algerian and Vietnamese companies and businesses to increase the exchange and discovery of information, as well as making use of real opportunities to cooperate in very diverse fields such as infrastructure.
The Algerians also expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation and exchange of experience and expertise with Vietnam in fishing, environmental protection and climate change response; science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence; and promoting cooperation in culture, sports and people-to-people exchange. Local cooperation was also considered a very important part of bilateral cooperation as a whole.
Prime Minister Sifi Grhieb also stated that during the visit, both parties had examined and agreed on specific solutions to strengthen cooperation on all fronts. He also stated that an essential part of it would be the realistic and efficient enactment of those agreements, turning the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Algeria into a model in international relations generally but also South-to-South cooperation specifically.
Vietnam and Algeria share common core values
Speaking his turn, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính once again thanked the warm, respectful, friendly and affectionate welcome that the Government and people of Algeria gave to Vietnam in general and the high-class Delegation of Vietnam specifically in the state visit to Algeria.
The Prime Minister sent his regards and congratulations from Secretary General and the leadership of Vietnam about the results that Algeria had achieved in the past year and their support towards the important orientations of Algeria in the coming years, with a view towards 2035.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the two nations shared very important common core values, which are the mutual support and assistance to gain independence and freedom in each country. And in the present, he saw the need to continue to live up to that legacy in the future, helping to grow each nation to become rich, civilized, prosperous and flourishing, with the people becoming increasingly warm and happy, year after year, decade after decade and era after era.
Completely agreeing with the suggestions and ideas of Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb while emphasizing additional points, the Prime Minister shared how both parties had had very successful discussions, with comprehensive and agreeable discussions regarding maxims, directions and solutions to further strengthen the relations between the two nations, which should be commensurate to the good relations and the affection that the people of the two countries had for one another.
Hence, the agreement to upgrade the relations of Algeria and Vietnam to a Strategic Partnership reflects the high political trust at all levels; the expansion of the range and scale of cooperation on all fronts, especially cooperations in economics, investments, culture, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and education and training; and the confirmation that economic cooperation was the impetus to push the relations between the two countries to become more in-depth, realistic and effective.
“We shall unite to create strength, strengthening cooperation to create benefits for both nations, as well as increase the trade of high-level and local delegations to increase mutual trust and understanding”, the Prime Minister stated.
Politically, the two leaders agreed to continue their good tradition of friendliness while continuing to increase political trust, reinforce unity and mutual support in terms of multilateral and bilateral cooperation.
In terms of economics, commerce and investment, the two leaders saw that there was plentiful room for cooperation between the two nations, with high levels of synergy. They saw this as an important and motivating pillar for the Strategic Partnership. In that spirit, both parties agreed to strengthen talks of commodity trade agreements to open the market for products of each nation and increase trade promotion and diversification, as well as strengthening the trade of key products.
Both parties also agreed to strengthen the commercial environment to allow for convenient investments and becoming fair, transparent and indiscriminate. Both parties pledged to create favorable conditions for strategic partnership projects, especially cooperation projects in petrochemicals, textiles and agriculture, to be deployed effectively, stably and sustainably, creating a foundation for expanding to other high-potential and beneficial fields of cooperation.
In terms of multifaceted forums, both parties have discussed about local and international issues of mutual interest, reasserting their support of multilateralism and pledging to continue their close cooperation in international and local organizations, strengthening the process of reforming the global governance system to be fair and effective, as well as strengthening the role of developing nations, helping to provide a voice for Southern nations and let them have a larger role in international relations.
Both parties supported the critical role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the African Union (AU), while agreeing to contribute to the strengthening of cooperation between Asian and African nations, as well as South-to-South cooperation.
In terms of other fields of collaboration, the two leaders also had deep discussions regarding the expansion of cooperation into new fields that would suit the strengths and development needs of each country, such as agriculture and environment, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, Halal food production cooperation, culture, education and training, people-to-people exchange and local cooperation.
On this occasion, the two parties agreed to continue to monitor and ensure security and safety, creating favorable conditions for communities and businesses of both nations to continue to contribute positively for the traditionally beautiful relations between the two nations.
Once again, the Prime Minister welcomed the signing of cooperation agreements in the fields of education and training, housing and urban planning, debt settlement, judiciary matters and other issues that needed solving during the visit.
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính wished for the country and people of Algeria to achieve even bigger things in their mission to build and grow the country, as well as wishing for the traditional relations of Vietnam and Algeria to continue to be reinforced and grown for the benefit of the people of both nations, as well as the peace, friendliness, cooperation and development of the area and the world. He also suggested that the ministries and departments of both nations actively implemented the signed agreements and the directions that the two Prime Ministers agreed on, contributing to making the Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Algeria continue to bloom and bear fruit.
