VNHN – Total value of trade in goods is expected to reach US$500 billion in the 4th quarter this year, according to the Viet Nam Customs under the Ministry of Finance.
The trade value stood at US$13 billion in 1995 when Viet Nam officially became a member of the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations.
Two years latter, Viet Nam joined the World Trade Organization and the trade figure rose to US$100 billion.
After four years as a WTO member, the trade figure doubled to US$200 billion on December 25, 2011 and reached US$400 billion in mid-December 2017./.
