VNHNO - The Russian media carried detailed coverage of the freshly concluded visit to Russia by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong, while touching on the relations and cooperation potential between the two countries.
Parlamentskaya Gazeta, a weekly edition of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, emphasised that the talks between the Vietnamese Party chief and Russian President Vladimir Putin took place in an atmosphere of “traditional friendship and mutual understanding.” The visit has created a “new impulse” for the development of Russia-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership, it said.
* DumaTV, the television channel of the State Duma of Russia, quoted the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Gennady Zyuganov, as saying that the leaders of the Russian Communist Party are very proud of the time-honoured friendship with Vietnam. Zyuganov affirmed that the Russian Communist Party will facilitate the successful implementation of the agreements signed between the two countries. The two sides will organise the Vietnam Year in Russia and the Russia Year in Vietnam next year, and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation has been actively preparing for such an important friendly event, he stated.

* Rossiskaya Gazeta, a daily publication of the Government of Russia, cited Chairman of the State Duma of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, as saying that Vietnam is a close country that has always shown its friendliness and respect towards Russia during the development process of the two countries’ relations. Volodin highly appreciated the “connection” between the two sides, affirming that he would create favourable conditions for bilateral ties to thrive unceasingly.
* The Sankt-Peterburg television channel in Saint Petersburg covered the fruitful results of the meeting between General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi. It said that the two leaders discussed measures intended to continuously develop multifaceted cooperation and tighten the friendship between Vietnam and Russia, in addition to the regional and global issues of the two countries’ shared interests. The meeting concluded with the issuance of a joint statement from the two sides, which mentioned the cooperation between their companies and organisations.
* The miR-24 television channel analysed the areas in which Vietnam and Russia would accelerate cooperation, with an emphasis on the fields of energy, finance, currency, and regional and world security. Vietnam and Russia express their wish to continue bilateral and multilateral cooperation aiming to combat the increasing risks of using information technology and communication for criminal and terrorist purposes, it said.
* In an article published on the website of FederalPress, an expert from the Russian Academy of Sciences stated that there exist not only friendly relations but also strong business ties between Russia and Vietnam. Vietnam is a long-standing traditional trade partner of Russia, he said, stating that Russia is willing to import Vietnam’s key products for domestic economic development./.
