Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed a public telegram ordering relevant ministries and agencies to ensure the highest safety and security for lives, property as well as legitimate interests of Vietnamese citizens and entities in Ukraine.

Around 7,000 Vietnamese people are living in Ukraine, mainly in Kharkiv, Odessa, and Kyiv.
Pham ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to draw a plan to protect security and safety of, and evacuate Vietnamese citizens and members of diplomatic missions if necessary, and provide them with food and other necessities.
The ministry was tasked to direct Vietnamese diplomatic missions in Ukraine and neighboring countries to provide support to Vietnamese citizens and promptly evacuate those who are in dangerous areas.
The ministry was also asked to prepare a plan to bring home Vietnamese citizens at their request.

The Prime Minister tasked the Ministry of Transport to direct Vietnamese airlines to prepare plans to bring Vietnamese citizens home.
