VNHNO - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed his wish that Tay Ninh should become a model province that grows wealthy through agricultural production at a meeting with the provincial leadership on August 21.
He praised the province’s efforts in economic development over recent years after visiting two high-tech agricultural models based in Tay Ninh.
The PM stated that agricultural mechanisation and automation could help Tay Ninh succeed, noting that the province has a relatively flat terrain fit for large-scale production and its soil is suitable for various types of tropical plants.

The government leader highlighted the province’s strengths in organic agriculture, which should be combined with deep processing, as well as in tourism and cross-border trade.
At the working session, Tay Ninh leaders briefed the PM on the provincial economy’s 7.7% growth in the first half of 2018 and its income per capita reaching US$2,400 in 2017.
They suggested the central government support its infrastructure development, especially the Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai Expressway and the Go Dau-Tay Ninh-Xa Mat Expressway.
For the first project, the PM asked the Ministry of Transport to work with Tay Ninh province to speed up the rate of progress with a pre-feasibility report to be submitted in September.
Meanwhile for the second project, PM Phuc agreed to assign Tay Ninh province as the project owner, which was asked to propose appropriate mechanisms to implement it in a timely manner.
As part of his visit to Tay Ninh, the government leader visited Phan Van Dien, a former official of the Tay Ninh Security Bureau, who has been honoured as a “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces”./.
