Man was speaking at a workshop on policies towards overseas Vietnamese on January 13 jointly held by the NA Committee for External Affairs and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.
He stated that the country’s overall achievements have the contributions of over 5.3 million Vietnamese people currently living and working in 130 countries and territories, including 500,000 businesspeople and intellectuals, who have contributed ideas to the Party and State on many important matters.
According to the NA Vice Chairman, during high-level diplomatic activities, the parliament’s leaders always meet and listen to the opinions of the overseas Vietnamese communities and have introduced many policies concerning nationality, immigration, home ownership, investment and scientific research.
Speaking at the event, delegates expressed their opinions on how to facilitate their travel, business and investment in the homeland, helping to attract the intellectual and economic resources of overseas Vietnamese and protect the national cultural identity.
