VNHNO - Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, Do Ba Ty, led a delegation to supervise the construction of the Truong Son Dong road in the Central and Central Highlands provinces from August 21-24.
The road requires a total investment of over VND10 trillion (US$430 million) and is 657km long, running through the seven Central and Central Highlands provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Phu Yen, Dak Lak and Lam Dong.
Approximately 540km of the road has been completed, connecting the five provinces of Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Phu Yen and Dak Lak. The remaining unfinished 85km sections are located in Quang Nam, Dak Lak and Lam Dong.

At the meeting in Da Lat on August 24, the NA Vice Chairman pointed out a number of shortcomings in the implementation of the projects, including the tardy progress of the project, which should have been completed in 2015, but only 86% of the project has been completed so far.
He urged for the completion of the whole project by 2020 because of the important role of the project in the socio-economic development of the Central and Central Highlands provinces.
NA Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty also asked the localities concerned to quickly connect their local roads with the Truong Son Dong road to take full advantage of the project./.
