The Government of Germany has decided to donate around 2.5 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses to Viet Nam.
Earlier, Germany announced it would gift Viet Nam with a medical equipment package of 75 ventilators, 15 medical monitors, and 20,000 oxygen meters.
The German Government is supporting the global efforts to fight the pandemic to the tune of 2.2 billion euro. Most of this sum is going to the vaccine platform COVAX, which is procuring and financing vaccines for developing countries.
To date, Viet Nam has received 29 million vaccine doses from various sources, including 19 million AstraZeneca doses, over 5 million Moderna doses, 1.2 million Pfizer doses, 12,000 Sputnik-V doses, and 2.5 million Sinopharm doses.
As of 7:00 pm on Saturday, the Southeast Asian country administered 21,046,279 COVID-19 vaccine doses, with 3,047,525 people have been fully vaccinated./.
