VNHNO - A wide range of activities have been held in localities across the nation to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).
As part of the activities to mark the 73rd anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day (September 2), at the Hanoi Opera House, on September 1, the Communist Review magazine coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications and Hanoi municipal People's Committee to organise a special art exchange programme, named "Independence Star". The programme was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Hoang Trung Hai; and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, Phan Dinh Trac, along with the leaders of ministries and departments, and former leaders.
A performance celebrates Vietnam’s National Day ( September 2 )
The programme aims to affirm the historical values, educate revolutionary traditions, and raise patriotism. At the event, the audience, including many young people, exchanged with a number of historical witnesses, who helped them gain an insight and pride in the great historical values of the August Revolution and the dedication of the forefathers and the responsibility to preserve, protect and promote the revolutionary achievements of today's generation.
* On the same day, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City hosted a banquet for ambassadors, charge d’affaires and heads of international organisations in Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2). The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Thien Nhan; Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong; and Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council, Nguyen Thi Quyet Tam; as well as ambassadors, charge d’affaires and heads of international organisations in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the ceremony, the leaders of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City thanked their international friends for their contribution to the development of the city. The leaders also expressed their belief that the foreign diplomats and friends will make more contributions to the enhancement of the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, as well as countries around the world.
* On September 1, in Moc Chau district, the Son La People's Committee opened the Culture and Tourism Week in 2018, as part of the activities to mark the National Day, attracting thousands of Mong people in the area who gathered in Moc Chau town.
At the opening ceremony, the organizing board announced the decision of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on putting the khen (pan-pipe) art of Mong people in Moc Chau district and the Pang A festival of the La Ha people, Son La province, on the list of national intangible cultural heritages.
* On September 1 to 2, a series of exhibitions, cultural activities, and art programme were organised in Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Binh Phuoc and Vinh Phuc provinces./.
