United Nations adopts treaty for the future of humanity

On September 22 (local time), within the framework of the High-level Week of the 9th United Nations General Assembly in New York (USA), with the majority of approval, United Nations members adopted the "Pact for the Future" to resolve a series of conflicts, environmental threats, as well as technological challenges that humanity is facing.

The multilateral organization called it a groundbreaking blueprint for the future. The treaty outlines 56 actions, including commitments to multilateralism, upholding the UN Charter and maintaining peace. It also emphasizes the belief in “a path to a brighter future for all humanity.”

Speaking at the event, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres highlighted the role of the newly adopted treaty, saying that the organization's landmark agreements are a step towards a more effective, comprehensive, interactive and connected multilateralism.

Prime minister Japan's Kishida Fumio calls for reform of the United Nations Security Council to maintain peace and stability in the world. worldPrime Minister Kishida stated that most countries support expanding the number of permanent and non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council; calling for early implementation of Security Council reform in 2025, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The Japanese Prime Minister believes that a free and open international order based on the rule of law will create conditions for countries to develop sustainably and prosper.
