VNHNO - A seminar, aiming to further refine the project “Summarising 15 years of implementing the Resolution No 32-NQ/TW of the Politburo (ninth tenure) on the building and development of Hai Phong city in the period of national industrialisation and modernisation” before submission to the Politburo for consideration, was held in Hai Phong, on August 22.
After 15 years of implementing the Resolution, Hai Phong has achieved outstanding results, maintaining a high and continuous economic growth rate, at an average of 11% per year. The economic scale has been expanded and the economic structure has been shifted along the direction of industrialisation, modernisation and urbanisation.

Speaking at the seminar, Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Economic Affairs, and also Head of the Central Steering Committee on the construction of the project on summarising 15 years of Resolution 32, stressed that Hai Phong's authorities, party committee and people have a strong political determination and have a leading tradition of innovation and creativity. The central government always cares for and clearly defines the position and role of Hai Phong as one of the major economic centres of the country and a major area of marine economic development.
Politburo Member Binh also emphasised the targets, tasks and five key solutions for building and developing Hai Phong city up to 2030, with a vision to 2045, to become a green, modern, and smart city in Southeast Asia. In addition, he also proposed that the Politburo and the Secretariat consider issuing a new resolution on "Building and developing Hai Phong city up to 2030 with a vision to 2045".
The workshop focused on six issues: leadership activity and the implementation of Resolution No.32; the results of implementation of Resolution No. 32; the evaluation of limitations and causes; forecasting context and challenges; tasks and solutions for building and developing Hai Phong city up to 2030 with a vision to 2045; and suggestions./.
