With the above breakthrough strategies plus the efforts of the entire political system, the support and companionship of all walks of life and the business community, in 2023 alone, Quang Tri has attracted 46 projects with a total investment of more than 3,314 billion VND; of which, outside the industrial park, the economic zone attracts 42 projects with a capital of over 1,981 billion VND and in the economic zone, the industrial park has 4 projects with a total investment capital of over 1,333 billion VND. Talking about FDI capital, up to now, Quang Tri has attracted 19 valid FDI projects, with a total registered investment capital of over 2,536 million USD, of which 15 operating projects with a total registered investment capital. more than 106 million USD, 4 projects are under construction with a total registered capital of nearly 2,430 million USD. In addition, Quang Tri have formed a new energy center with 1,090.7 MW of power source projects integrated into the national grid system for commercial operation. By the end of 2023, there are two more projects, with a total capacity of 60MW operated, increasing commercial operating capacity to 1,150.7MW. We set a goal that by 2030, Quang Tri will become the renewable energy center of the Central region and the whole country.

Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Hung: By the end of 2023, Quang Tri has achieved 15/18 major socio-economic targets that have been achieved and exceeded the plan, with 3/18 targets approaching the set plan. In particular, the good news is that Quang Tri has two important targets: GRDP and GRDP per capita in 2023 of the province, both achieved and exceeded the set plan. Through the first 3 years of the term up to this point, out of 26 targets set out in the Resolution of the Provincial People’s Council on the 5-year plan 2021-2025, Quang Tri has had 08 targets exceeded and met the plan. plan. There are 10 implemented targets reaching over 92% of the 5-year plan and 8 implemented targets reaching 65-85% of the 5-year plan. In particular, the growth rate of Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) of the province is 6.68%, reaching the set plan (plan is 6.5-7%) and GRDP per capita income is 71 million VND/ 70 million VND). The average GRDP index per capita reached 71 million VND, which for Quang Tri is quite high compared to many provinces in the North Central and Central Coast regions.

Reporter: What programs will Quang Tri prepare for the new year 2024?
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vo Van Hung: Entering the new year 2024, we will continue to attract investment, in addition, continue to implement large driving-force projects such as Quang Tri Airport with an investment capital of over 5,800 billion VND, which will be started to build in this new year 2024; the Industrial Park will also be built including: Textiles, footwear, packaging and printing, wood processing and furniture, food and beverages, to date there are 5 more businesses which signed the memorandum of understanding (MOU) to lease land in Quang Tri Industrial Park for investment in construction and development. As for My Thuy port, the construction will begin on the first day of February 2024. As for the eastern bypass of Dong Ha city, it has completed the bidding work and will organize construction of the route from Doc Mieu (Gio Linh) to Dong Ha. Cam Lo - Lao Bao Expressway project is being urgently implemented; once it were completed and put into use, it would be a chain connecting the East-West arterial highway traffic routes with road, sea, air, At that time, Quang Tri will be an intersection point attracting international tourists and goods coming in and out.
My Thuy Port Area project, which is about to be built, has the total investment of 14,234 billion VND, with a scale of 685 hectares including 10 wharves, and is able to receive ships with the tonnage of 100,000 tons and is invested in 3 phases including: Phase 1 from 2018-2025: to invest in 4 wharves with an investment capital of nearly 5,000 billion VND; Phase 2 from 2026-2031: to invests in 3 wharves with a capital of nearly 5,000 billion VND; Phase 3 from 2032-2036: to invests in 3 wharves with a capital of over 4,300 billion VND.
