Organizing the national creative writing contest in English “Thanh Giong and the dream beyond” for secondary and high school students

On the afternoon of November 3, 2025, at the headquarters of Vietnam Integration Magazine (Hanoi), the Organizing Committee Conference of the National Creative Writing Contest in English themed “Thanh Giong and The Dream Beyond” was held for secondary and high school students across the country.

With the aim of promoting cultural exchange, inspiring a passion for learning English, encouraging linguistic creativity, and nurturing a love for Vietnamese folk literature among the young generation in the era of international integration, the contest is co-organized by Vietnam Integration Magazine and ED14 Plus Joint Stock Company.

Journalist Doan Manh Phuong, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Integration Magazine, presented the Decision on the Establishment of the Contest Organizing Committee to representatives of the two co-organizing units.

The contest aims to help Vietnamese students showcase their creativity and global mindset by rewriting the Vietnamese folktale Thanh Giong in English; to spark a love for reading, appreciation for Vietnamese culture, and respect for the values of folk heritage through the use of a foreign language and global thinking in the era of integration. At the same time, it seeks to spread the humanistic values, patriotism, and resilient spirit embodied in the legend of this national hero to the younger generation; to encourage and motivate students at all educational levels to study English diligently, in line with the spirit of Decision No. 2371/QĐ-TTg dated October 27, 2025, issued by the Prime Minister approving the project “Promoting English as the Second Language in Schools for the Period 2025–2035, with a Vision to 2045.” The contest also contributes to promoting the image of Vietnam its people, culture, and aspirations to international friends through the modern lens of the young generation in the era of global integration.

The competition will run from mid-November 2025 to March 2026, consisting of online rounds and a final gala in Hanoi, where outstanding works will be presented and authors will have the opportunity to interact with representatives from education, the media, and the international judging panel.
