VNHNO - The People's Committee of Mai Son district, in the northern mountainous province of Son La, held a ceremony on August 25 to announce the certification mark for Mai Son Sugar Apple and the 2018 Agricultural Products Festival.
Vice Chairman of the Mai Son district People's Committee, Vu Tien Dinh, said the event aimed to introduce the potential, strength, and promote the high value agricultural products of the locality to consumers, investors, and visitors.
15 booths introduce the Mai Son sugar apple products of cooperatives and households in the district.
It also provided a good opportunity for businesses, cooperatives and farmers in the district to cooperate with domestic and foreign enterprises to produce, trade, improve product value, and create jobs for local people, he added.
Mai Son district currently has 3,985 hectares of fruit trees, yielding nearly 18,000 tonnes of fruit per year. Of which, 140 hectares of sugar apple are concentrated in Co Noi, Muong Bon, Na Bo communes and Hat Lot towns, with an output of roughly 1,416 tonnes per crop.
The 2018 Agricultural Product Festival attracted 35 booths showcasing many VietGAP and GlobalGAP-certified products, namely longan, mango, avocado, banana, luffa, red dragon fruit, cabbage, tomato, garlic, and green pea, of which, 15 booths introduced the Mai Son sugar apple products of cooperatives and households in the district./.
