Most recently, I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Nguyễn Văn Oai when he was honored as one of the delegates representing the Youth Union of Ninh Binh Province to attend the 13th National Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2026–2031 term. He was especially honored and delighted to meet leaders of the Party, the State, and national dignitaries. This meaningful experience helped him further understand and embrace President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching: “A good physician should be like a gentle mother” - a profound principle of medical ethics that accompanies every healthcare professional wearing the white coat.

Dr. Nguyễn Văn Oai belongs to the generation of physicians born in the 1990s. He was born and raised in an academically oriented family in Duy Tien Town, Ha Nam Province (now part of Ninh Binh Province). With his determination and natural ability, he was admitted to Hai Phong University of Medicine and Pharmacy, bringing great joy and pride to his family. After graduating as a General Practitioner, he continued his postgraduate training in Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery and returned to his hometown to establish THIEN NHAN Dental Clinic – Dr. OAI Dental and Maxillofacial Clinic, with the professional philosophy:
“Working with Knowledge, Ethics, and Responsibility”.
Throughout his career, he has continuously pursued advanced professional training and actively participated in national and international scientific conferences in the field of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery. In particular, he has been awarded numerous certificates of continuing professional development and specialized training in Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery by the Hanoi Medical University and the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, Hanoi.
Dr. Nguyễn Văn Oai has continuously made efforts to learn, acquire knowledge, improve clinical skills, and gain valuable experience from previous generations of healthcare professionals. With a progressive mindset, a passion for exploration, and a willingness to embrace new advances in medicine, he and his colleagues at THIEN NHAN Dental Clinic – Dr. OAI Dental and Maxillofacial Clinic regularly provide comprehensive dental and maxillofacial care, including orthodontic treatment, dental prosthetics, advanced implant dentistry, and aesthetic dental rehabilitation.
He also specializes in pediatric dentistry procedures requiring sedation or anesthesia, surgical removal of impacted and horizontally/abnormally erupted wisdom teeth and provides dedicated care for patients with maxillofacial trauma, including maxillofacial fracture management, open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) of facial bone fractures, as well as surgical treatment of maxillofacial cystic lesions and tumors.
With the goal of improving the quality of diagnosis and treatment at his clinic, Dr. Nguyễn Văn Oai continuously applies advanced techniques and modern approaches in examination, surgery, and patient care. With his professional knowledge, clinical experience, and strong dedication to medicine, he has on many occasions directly managed complex situations, made rapid and appropriate clinical decisions, and contributed to saving patients’ lives in critical circumstances.

He actively participates in numerous domestic scientific conferences in the field of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery, continuously learning and exchanging professional experiences with colleagues and experts. More importantly, with a compassionate heart and a strong commitment to community service, he and his clinic regularly organize voluntary dental and maxillofacial healthcare programs for disadvantaged people, low-income patients, and residents inside and outside Duy Tien Ward. He has provided meaningful support to the community by giving gifts to outstanding students from underprivileged families, donating stone benches to schools, and providing financial assistance to disadvantaged households during holidays and traditional festivals.
Dr. Oai has also collaborated with the National Hospital of Odonto-Stomatology, Hanoi to implement a public-private partnership model for oral healthcare in schools in Ninh Binh Province, under the national project on enhancing capacity for dental and maxillofacial examination, treatment, and community oral disease prevention during the 2021–2030 period. The program has been deployed in eight schools across Ninh Binh Province, contributing to improving oral health awareness and preventive dental care among students.

While waiting for my appointment after a difficult wisdom tooth extraction procedure, I had the opportunity to hear the sincere sharing of a patient’s family member, Mr. Nguyễn Văn N., who lives near the clinic: “My husband lost almost all of his teeth and needed dentures. We came to THIEN NHAN Dental Clinic – Dr. OAI Dental and Maxillofacial Clinic for treatment. Dr. Oai personally examined him, provided a treatment plan, and restored his teeth with aesthetic ceramic dentures that were beautiful, suitable, and comfortable. Dr. Oai is very warm and approachable. He always gently supports patients and clients as much as possible”. Many other patients and clients waiting for consultations and aesthetic dental procedures share the same impression: Dr. Oai is a young physician with strong professional expertise, willing to take on challenging cases, and dedicated to helping patients through the true meaning of the word “Tam” – the heart, compassion, and ethical spirit of a physician.
