In addition, HASI aims to promote innovation, apply high technologies, accelerate digital and green transformation; develop high-quality human resources; and intensify trade promotion and international cooperation.

Through these activities, HASI seeks to enhance the competitiveness of enterprises, increase localization rates, and create favorable conditions for enterprises to participate more deeply in regional and global value chains.

According to the report presented at the Congress, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Industries (HASI) was established based on the inheritance and development of its predecessor, the Binh Duong Supporting Industries Association (BASI), which was founded in June 2025.

At the Congress, on behalf of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Industries, Mr. Võ Sơn Điền (on the right) signs a Cooperation Agreement with the Ho Chi Minh City Rubber and Plastics Association, represented by its Chairman, Mr. Nguyễn Quốc Anh.

After more than half a year of operation, the Association has proactively organized and coordinated the implementation of over 10 thematic programs and events, thereby gradually affirming its role as a focal point for representation, connectivity, and promotion for the supporting industry business community in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern Key Economic Region.

To date, the Association’s membership has exceeded 200 enterprises. Over the past period, HASI has actively organized numerous seminars and in-depth forums on logistics, supply chains, digital transformation, green transformation, and ESG standards, thereby promoting investment cooperation and gradually forming a supporting industry ecosystem linked to industrial parks and high-tech zones.

Within the framework of the Congress, supporting industry enterprises display a wide range of components, equipment, and new technical solutions.

Notably, with the support of many partner organizations, HASI successfully organized the Supporting Industries Exhibition and Forum and the 2025 Supply - Demand Connection Conference at WTC EXPO, Binh Duong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. Featuring a series of forums, panel discussions, conferences, and seminars, along with more than 200 booths displaying 849 supporting industry products, the event recorded 3,394 check-ins and 754 B2B matchmaking sessions, generating a strong and wide-ranging social impact.

Alongside its professional activities, HASI has signed numerous cooperation agreements in the fields of finance, human resource training, research - technology transfer, and domestic as well as international trade promotion.

At the Congress, the Executive Committee of HASI’s first term was consolidated with 40 members, including a Standing Committee of seven members. Mr. Võ Sơn Điền, Project Director of the Riverside Science and Technology Industrial Park under Becamex Group, was elected Chairman of HASI, while Mr. Lê Văn Nhựt, Director of Viet San Mechanical One-member Limited Liability Company, was appointed HASI’s Standing Vice Chairman.

Assessing the role of the supporting industries sector, Mr. Hà Văn Út, Member of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, noted that the Ho Chi Minh City is the country’s major economic and industrial hub, with a well-developed system of export processing zones, industrial parks, and high-tech zones, holding an important position in regional and global supply chains.

Among the Ho Chi Minh City’s five main development pillars, high-tech industry associated with supporting industries has been identified as a key driving force, contributing to increased technological content, higher added value, and the strengthening of economic self-reliance and sustainable development foundations.

Mr. Trần Bá Dương, Chairman of the Board of Directors of THACO Group Joint Stock Company, delivers congratulatory remarks at the Gala Dinner celebrating the successful Congress of HASI’s first term.

According to the Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, supporting industry enterprises still face many challenges, as most are small and medium-sized, with limitations in technology, management capacity, and financial resources. Their ability to participate deeply in global supply chains, especially in higher value-added segments, remains limited. In addition, increasingly stringent requirements related to digital transformation, green transformation, traceability, and ESG standards are placing pressure on enterprises to proactively innovate their development models toward sustainability.

In this context, Mr. Hà Văn Út emphasized that the establishment and operation of HASI is of great significance in gathering, connecting, and enhancing the capacity of the supporting industry business community. This Extraordinary Congress is regarded as a milestone reflecting the spirit of unity, voluntariness, democracy, and transparency among enterprises, aiming to strengthen internal capacity, promote self-reliance and resilience, and deepen integration into global value chains.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Supporting Industries and the Ho Chi Minh City Rubber and Plastics Association (RUPA) signed a Cooperation Agreement to strengthen connectivity, expand collaboration, and enhance the Association’s bridging role within the supporting industry ecosystem. At the Gala Dinner celebrating the Congress and welcoming the New Year 2026, HASI also admitted 23 new members, bringing its total membership to 224.
